Festivities are held at the 2400 block of Grand Canal Court (at the intersection with Court C) and along Linnie Canal from Grand Canal to Eastern Canal.

8th Annual Rubber Ducky Race

10:00 – 1:15 – Buy your Rubber Duckies from the VCA for just $5.00 each at the Linnie/Grand location.

1:15 – Ducky sales officially close.

1:30 – The Rubber Ducky Race begins at the Dell Avenue Bridge over Linnie Canal & finishes at the balloon line over Linnie at Eastern Canal. Winners will receive cash prizes which will be awarded at the BBQ!

ALSO: you will be able to purchase your Rubber Ducky(s) in advance on Saturday & Sunday, June 23rd & 24th, and Saturday & Sunday, June 30 & July 1st, at Dell Ave and Court D between 12pm & 4pm. Last year we sold out of duckys , so get yours early!

 

Crazy Hat Contest

2:30 – 3:30 – Our 5th Annual! Don your most dramatic (tackiest) party hat for all of the festivities.

Judges will be secretly roaming to select the “Craziest” and the “Most Creative” hats. Be sure to be where you can be seen! Prizes will be awarded at the BBQ!

NEW THIS YEAR: We will have a decorating table where the kids can design their own crazy hats, from 2:30 – 3:30!

 

BBQ Pot Luck

2:30 – 4:30 – Live music by the
“Shoo Flies”.

Following the Rubber Ducky Race and the Linnie Canal Downwind Regatta the VCA will have a community BBQ & Pot Luck … Hamburgers and hot dogs along with all the fixin’s will be provided. To defray the rising cost of food, etc. we are asking for a contribution of $5 per person/$10 for family, or bring a salad, side dish or desert.

Trophies and prizes for the Ducky Race and the Downwind Regatta will be presented and there will be entertainment for all!

 

Linnie Canal Downwind Regatta

All boats must be wind-powered only. Let your imagination run wild. Here is your chance to be creative!

1:30Kids Division boats gather at the balloon Starting Line at Linnie Canal and Grand Canal.

1:45 – Start of the Kids Division – Ages 14 and under.

1:45Adult Division entries to the Starting Line.

2:00 – Start of the Adult Division. All those 15 and older.
Regatta entry forms (REQUIRED) must be handed to the Race Committee prior to the start. All kids on boats MUST wear life vests at all times during the race and the release must be signed by their parent/guardian.

Boats must be
prepared prior to race
time. Don’t forget
that sails must be
able to fit under the
two bridges on Linnie
Canal! A blast
from a fog horn will
start the race. Regatta
Officials at Linnie and Eastern Canals will note the winning boats as they cross the balloon Finish Line – the first 3 boats in each division will receive trophies!

Trophies will be awarded to the winners at the BBQ!

Regatta rules and entry form will be distributed next week.
